1. Clean eyepieces externally and internally.
2. Clean objectives: external lens, body and rear
lens.
3. Clean condenser. Clean lenses externally and
internally
and clean and/or repair diaphragm
4. Inspect and clean observation tube. Lubricate
adjustable tube and IPD dovetail. Adjust
mechanical tube length.
5. Clean and lubricate mechanical stage, adjust X-Y rack
and pinion and replace rack, pinion
ball bearings if defective.
6. Inspect substage rack and pinion for smooth action and
clean if required. Lubricate and
adjust substage dovetail for play
and repair and /or replace rack and pinion if defective.
7. Inspect action of aperture and field diaphragms.
Clean diaphragm leaves and replace if
defective.
8. Inspect clean and lubricate fine and course controls
without removal of focus mechanism
from the microscope. If the
microscope
requires “A Focus Mechanism Overhaul” then an
additional cost would be added to the
unit price. This is usually not necessary.
9. Inspect illuminator and lubricate illuminator adjustment
controls according to manufacturer's
specifications. MTS will replace
defective
sockets and/or light bulbs as required.
10. Check and adjust optical alignment to manufacturer's specifications
(Koehler illumination).
11. Clean optical surfaces and filters on fluorescent microscopes and
adjust vertical
illuminators.
12. Align phase annular rings on phase microscopes.
13. Adjust tube length on all heads of multi-head scopes.
14. Record and report for each scope all adjustments and changes made.
15. Clean camera optics.
16. Inspect discussion tube pointers for proper operation.
17. Clean field mirrors and field lenses as needed.
